It's time for boys' to start getting ready for their First Communion, and the dress code is something that you need to know about. It can be easy to get caught up in the excitement of this special day and forget what boys should wear, so we've compiled a list of dos and don'ts for boys' suits.

While boys' communion suits can be a daunting decision for parents, there are some helpful guidelines to follow. For boys 1st communion suits, the most important thing is that it isn't too formal. So no tuxedos! 

First Communion's in Derry and Donegal happen in May and June, so navy & lighter colour suits are more popular. In this article we will cover everything they need to know about boys' communion suits.

Navy Suits

Since navy is a neutral colour, it is easy to accessorize with other colours like white, black or silver. A navy suit also offers versatility because it can be dressed up or down as needed - making them a great choice for boys who need to dress formally but still want to feel comfortable in their clothing.

 

Beige Suits

Beige is the colour of the summer and accessories' well with a tan or light brown tie & hanky set with a pair of tan brogues. Your boy will stand out from the crowd and look amazing in his photo's. 

 

Tweed Suits

Brighter coloured suits are very popular, similar to beige suits, as the First Communions' fall in May & June.  We all pray that they get some sun, but we'll settle for a dry day here in the North West!
